Job description

POSITION: REGISTERED KINESIOLOGIST
LOCATION: OWEN SOUND, Ontario (HYBRID)
STATUS: PART-TIME, CONTRACTOR

BIM Health Services - Owen Sound has a part-time contractor Kinesiologist position to work in our Customized Active Rehabilitation Program and the Mental Health Activation Program.

Clinical duties include:

  1. Providing evidence-based assessment and treatment services for clients with various injuries and conditions, aiming to assist their return to work.
  2. Implementing, monitoring, and progressing exercise and work simulation programs.
  3. Managing resources, scheduling clients, tracking attendance, ensuring report timeliness, and communicating with stakeholders (insurance companies, employers, physicians, etc.) in collaboration with the team Physiotherapist.
  4. Developing structured Gradual Return to Work (GRTW) plans.
  5. Monitoring GRTW plans to facilitate successful outcomes.
  6. Working independently and as part of a team including Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Counselors, and Administrative Staff to support clients’ return to work and improve quality of life. Mentoring and training will be provided.

Qualifications:

  1. Knowledge and/or experience in evidence-based orthopaedic, concussion, neurological, or mental health practice with an emphasis on active rehabilitation.
  2. Understanding of psycho-social aspects of disability.
  3. Ability to travel to other locations as needed; access to a vehicle is essential.

Education:

  1. Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Human Kinetics, or an equivalent degree.

Memberships & Associations:

  1. Registration with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario.
