Job description

BIM Health Services - Owen Sound has apart-time contractor Kinesiologist (contractor) opportunity to work in our Customized Active Rehabilitation Program and the Mental Health Activation Program.

Clinical duties include :

  • Evidence-based assessment and treatment services for clients who have sustained a variety of injuries and conditions, usually with a goal of assisting them to return to work.
  • Implement, monitor and progress exercise and work simulation programs.
  • Management of resources, scheduling clients, tracking attendance, ensuring report timeliness and communicating with various stakeholders (insurance company, employer, physician, etc) in conjunction with the team Physiotherapist
  • Develop structured Gradual Return to Work (GRTW) plans.
  • Monitor the GRTW plan to facilitate a successful outcome.
  • Mentoring and training will be provided. The Kinesiologist will work, at times, independently and at other times will work on a team that includes Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Counselors, and Administrative Staff. Our goal is to assist clients to return to work and improve their quality of life.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge and / or experience in evidence based orthopaedic, concussion, neurological or mental health practice with a strong emphasis on active rehabilitation.
  • Knowledge of psycho-social aspects of disability
  • Travel may be required to other locations as needed. Ability to drive or access to a vehicle is essential.

Education :

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology or Human Kinetics or equivalent degree.

Memberships & Associations :

  • Registration with College of Kinesiologists of Ontario.
