BIM Health Services - Owen Sound has apart-time contractor Kinesiologist (contractor) opportunity to work in our Customized Active Rehabilitation Program and the Mental Health Activation Program.
Clinical duties include :
- Evidence-based assessment and treatment services for clients who have sustained a variety of injuries and conditions, usually with a goal of assisting them to return to work.
- Implement, monitor and progress exercise and work simulation programs.
- Management of resources, scheduling clients, tracking attendance, ensuring report timeliness and communicating with various stakeholders (insurance company, employer, physician, etc) in conjunction with the team Physiotherapist
- Develop structured Gradual Return to Work (GRTW) plans.
- Monitor the GRTW plan to facilitate a successful outcome.
- Mentoring and training will be provided. The Kinesiologist will work, at times, independently and at other times will work on a team that includes Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Counselors, and Administrative Staff. Our goal is to assist clients to return to work and improve their quality of life.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge and / or experience in evidence based orthopaedic, concussion, neurological or mental health practice with a strong emphasis on active rehabilitation.
- Knowledge of psycho-social aspects of disability
- Travel may be required to other locations as needed. Ability to drive or access to a vehicle is essential.
Education :
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology or Human Kinetics or equivalent degree.
Memberships & Associations :
- Registration with College of Kinesiologists of Ontario.
