POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Kinesiologist will support the mission, vision, and values of the Chatham-Kent Community Health Centres (CKCHC). The Kinesiologist provides patient- and family-centered care in accordance with relevant regulatory bodies and embraces evidence-based treatment, best practice guidelines, and CKCHC policies and procedures. Responsibilities include:

  1. Performing physical assessments, health/education counseling, treatments, and other Kinesiology activities according to the College of Kinesiology of Ontario (COKO) and the regional Cardiac Rehabilitation Program.
  2. Delivering, managing, and coordinating care within the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program.
  3. Collaborating and supporting the development and expansion of cardiac services.
  4. Providing educational support to clients and families through the Healthier Living and Cardiac Rehabilitation programs.
  5. Advocating for clients and connecting them with community resources.
  6. Designing individualized exercise programs and conducting group education/orientation classes for Cardiac Rehab participants.
  7. Supervising exercise sessions and recognizing signs of cardiovascular distress.
  8. Maintaining communication with primary care practitioners and specialists for coordinated care.
  9. Building professional relationships internally and externally.
  10. Collaborating with staff and community agencies to develop resources and participate in program delivery.
  11. Supervising graduate students during practicum or internships, as requested.
  12. Contributing to program objectives through strategic planning, issue resolution, and system improvements.
  13. Respecting cultural diversity and working in a safe environment, complying with policies and safety regulations.
