The KinderPAL Early Childhood Instructor works under the supervision of the school principal and is responsible for the daily planning, organization, and implementation of programming for kindergarten-aged students. Instructors will plan and implement the KinderPAL program to provide programming that follows a child-centered, play-based approach guided by FLIGHT: Alberta’s Early Learning and Care Framework. Key responsibilities include the development and delivery of developmentally appropriate activities, which support student participation and engagement in meaningful learning activities in a nurturing and safe environment.

Qualifications
  • Relevant education such as Early Childhood Education or Educational Assistant training considered an asset
  • CPR/First Aid Certification preferred
  • Three years of related experience in the education field
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with and relate to children in a developmentally appropriate manner
  • Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience, which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform the position may be considered
Candidates Must
  • Possess knowledge of child development and best practices in early learning
  • Have effective interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents as necessary
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Be able to lead large group learning activities, as well as guide and extend learning in small groups or with individual students
  • Be willing to utilize positive behavior supports according to established school/division guidelines
  • Maintain confidentiality and honor the right to privacy for all students and their families during and outside the school day
