Job description

OPEN COMPETITION

The Lac La Ronge Indian Band’s Education Department is now accepting applications for the 2025-2026 academic year, to fill the following Full-Time Term position based out of Sally Ross School, Hall Lake, SK: Kindergarten Teacher

The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties:

  • Use appropriate teaching aides and techniques, in order to meet basic Saskatchewan curriculum standards;
  • Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet individual needs of students;
  • Attend staff/community/School Committee/parent-teacher meetings and in-service workshops to develop a greater understanding of community aspirations and improvement of personal teaching competencies;
  • Participate in the operations of the school extracurricular program.

The suitable candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Education degree and a Saskatchewan Professional A teaching certificate;
  • Good classroom management skills;
  • Ability to teach students of varying abilities;
  • Proficient with Saskatchewan Kindergarten Curriculum;
  • Use motivational skills and strategies to encourage students to learn and keep them engaged;
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills to instruct and assess students work;
  • Have computer skills and can work with multiple types of computers, technology and software programs (power point, google classroom, Microsoft teams);
  • Strong time management skills to balance online classroom environment;
  • Early Childhood experience is an asset;
  • Cross-Cultural experience is an asset;
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License;
  • On-line teaching experience an asset;
  • Must be able to provide a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract, Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Screening;
  • Must be able to provide verification of previous teaching experience (if applicable);
