Job summary

Grasslands Public Schools is seeking an Educational Assistant to support Kindergarten students at Uplands Elementary in Brooks, Alberta. This term position runs August 25, 2026 to June 29, 2027, approximately 15 hours per week, with a Monday to Thursday schedule and Friday partial day.

The role requires patience, kindness, resilience, and the ability to work well under pressure while supporting learning, safety, and inclusive participation alongside teachers and school staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and experience with children or related settings.
• Ability to support learning and development for Kindergarten students.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced school environment with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Support students with instruction and learning activities, and their physical, social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
• Encourage positive interactions between students and staff.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and school administration.
• Provide physical support and personal care as required.
• Assist students in participating in school activities including swimming or outdoor events.
• Create a safe, inclusive learning environment that supports student success.
