Contract Type: Term; 0.50 FTE Part Time (approximately 15 hours per week)

• Tuesday & Thursday: 8:25 AM to 3:25 PM*
• Alternating Fridays: 8:25 AM to 11:50 PM (Staff will be required to stay longer when training is being held)*

*working hours could change based on bell times.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

Uplands Elementary is seeking applications for an Educational Assistant (EA) to support Kindergarten students in their learning, development, and preparation for success in the grades ahead.

This is a part-time, term position beginning August 25, 2026, and ending on June 29, 2027.

ABOUT THE SCHOOL:

Uplands Elementary School is a Pre-Kindergarten, Early English Language Learner and Grades 1 - 6 school in Brooks, Alberta to approximately 400 students. We offer many learning and extra curricular programs to our students including: sports, arts and citizenship clubs. Job Duties:

• support students with instruction and learning activities, as well as their physical, social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
• encourage positive and respectful interactions between students and staff;
• work closely and collaboratively with classroom teachers , school administration, and other members of the school team.
• Provide appropriate physical support and personal care, including lifting and transferring students, as required.
• Support students in participating in school activities , which may include swimming, outdoor sports, and other school-based activities.

Education and Certifications:

• High school diploma.
• Experience working with children or other vulnerable populations in an educational, healthcare, or related setting.

Considered an asset but not a requirement:

• Post-secondary training in education, Educational Assistant, child development, or a related field
• Two or more years of experience working with children or in an education setting.

*A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS

• A Current Criminal Record Check (CRC) with Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC).
• The original document is required to be submitted, and reported within thelast 6 monthsof hire date.
