KINDERGARTEN EDUCATION ASSISTANT

Our Lady of the Assumption School

This position is open to all internal and external candidates. Prior to employment, successful applicants must provide supporting documents as outlined on our New Employees page.

We are looking to hire a continuous 14.0-hour per week Kindergarten (AM) Education Assistant at Our Lady of the Assumption School in Lethbridge. This assignment is to commence September 8, 2025, and end June 11, 2026. This position is covered by the CUPE 1825 collective agreement. Please quote Posting #.

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess or be willing to gain the following skills:

• Hanen Learning Language and Loving It Certification
• At least one year of experience working in Childhood Programs and/or with children with special needs
• Experience working proactively with positive intervention for children's behaviors
• Ability to provide supports and cues for sound production as directed by the Speech Language Pathologist
• Ability to match activities and model appropriate behaviors at the child's functioning level
• Possess or willingness to gain First Aid Training
• Willingness to assist with toileting and other daily living skills
• Ability to work effectively within a trans-disciplinary team based on the child's needs
• Ability to take direction from the professional team
• Physical ability to engage and participate in the active ECS environment
