Job Description

In this key role, you will oversee a state-of-the-art healthcare Control Centre. Your role will be to monitor numerous systems including fire and life safety, access control, and CCTV.

  • Dispatch Security Guards to incidents, requests for assistance, emergencies, etc.
  • Maintain control of access to and from the property
  • Log details of radio transmission, telephone calls, and verbal instructions
  • Direct backup support as necessary
  • Inform management of major incidents
  • Maintain the Camera Surveillance System
  • Answer all incoming security telephone lines including the complex emergency telephone line.
  • Ensure that security operations occur consistent with policy and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • This position does not require a security license
  • A copy of your immunization records (Measles, Mumps, Rubella [MMR], Varicella, Pertussis and TB Skin Tests - Step 1 & 2)
  • Valid First Aid/CPR - Level C certification (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
  • Ability to be clean shaven to pass an N95 Mask Fit Test
  • Minimum 6+ months experience in a control centre/dispatch role; healthcare or security experience an asset
  • Strong professionalism, attention to detail, and observational awareness
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and make sound decisions under stress
  • Strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and teamwork
  • Proficiency with computers, phones, and surveillance systems preferred
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
