Job description

The Key Account Manager – Aqua Technology (KAM) will provide sales and technical support to members and customers of our Company’s Animal Health Aqua Business Unit.

Location : Remotely based across Canada, with an ideal location being West Coast and / or East Coast.

Our Animal Health Aqua Business Unit has an important and growing biopharma and technology product portfolio. Products include the latest Passive Integrated Transponder tag technology, related monitoring equipment and services, pumps, graders, vaccines, and pharmaceutical products available for fisheries, wildlife conservation and the aquaculture industry. We integrate these products by focusing on in-house design and manufacturing and providing installation services and maintenance. The monitoring systems collect identification data at specific and strategic locations to provide researchers valuable animal intelligence for management decisions.

Reporting to the Associate Director – Business Unit Lead, the Key Account Manager– Aqua Technology will be a key member of the field sales team and plays a critical role in supporting our Company's customer centric business model and will work closely with others in the Conservation Team. The Key Account Manager– Aqua Technology position will work in Canada and will be primarily responsible for direct sales and relationship management with customers across Canada focused on technology solutions by selling our Company's Animal Health products while providing technology and services that support the customer’s strategies.

This position requires knowledge of the fish and wildlife conservation related fields and an understanding of our Company's Animal Health Aqua Canada Brand of products as well as a technical levelof competency utilizing common fisheries research technology and techniques.

The Key Account Manager– Aqua Technology will ideally be based British Columbia; however, the incumbent can be located on the East Coast. The incumbent will be responsible for key accounts such as government agencies, energy companies, university research centers, and fisheries enhancement hatcheries located throughout Canada.

Key responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to :

Achieving revenue goals and managing expenses within budget guidelines.

Communicating information about products and services in a way that's meaningful and relevant to each individual customer.

Primary point of contact for current and prospective customers.

Meeting with key personnel / decision makers to understand customer needs and identification of business opportunities.

Developing customer centric strategies to address needs, solutions, and potential offerings resulting in sales opportunities and account sales growth of our products, technology, and services.

Developing specific account plans for all key customers.

Working with sales leadership to develop and deliver relevant offerings that address desired customer needs.

Developing and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of Our Company’s Animal Health Aqua product portfolio.

Articulating and communicating relevant customer, industry, product, market trends, and competitor landscape appropriately to the organization.

Providing sales, install and technical support for our Company's technology brands.

Providing PIT antenna system sales, installation, maintenance, and technical support.

Attending tradeshows, conferences, technical workshops and assist with marketing related tasks.

Bachelor's Degree (Animal Science, Marine Biology, Agribusiness, Conservation Fisheries, Aquaculture, or related field preferred).

Required Skills / Abilities :

A minimum of 2 years in a fisheries conservation or related field.

A minimum of 2 years of relevant account management / sales experience.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

Demonstrated motivation and focus on achieving measurable, tangible results.

Cross functional collaboration– ability to work across functions and levels to develop solutions.

Demonstrated ability to independently understand customers’ evolving needs and expectations.

Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and manage a diverse mix of accounts independently within Canada including complex accounts and to develop plans based on unique opportunities and customer needs.

Proficient computer skills including working knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to perform outdoor field-related labor in demanding conditions (10%).

Ability to lift 22 Kg.

60% travel required (travel within Canada, occasionally to the US).

Preferred Skills / Abilities :

Sales experience and / or experience with fisheries conservation.

Effective application of selling techniques and approaches, simultaneously managing multiple customer accounts at different stages of the sales process, articulating the value of aquatic technology products using approved resources.

Understanding fisheries and wildlife conservation and aquaculture sectors in Canada.

Previous experience with Passive Integrated Transponder Tagging & understanding of Passive Integrated Transponder Technology.
