Position: Kerendia Account Specialist - Calgary North/Red Deer, Alberta

The Account Specialist (AS), CVR, is responsible for delivering value to customers and driving sales growth through strategic planning and excellent execution. The AS will develop customer-focused initiatives using an account planning approach to strengthen Bayer’s leadership across their portfolio of brands, with a focus on cardiovascular and renal assets within their region. This is a permanent role supporting a hybrid work environment in Calgary North/Red Deer, Alberta.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Drive growth by increasing engagement with healthcare professionals (specialists and generalists) to optimize patient care, understanding and addressing customer issues to add value and enhance adoption.
  2. Develop and execute territory-specific business plans based on thorough analysis of the business environment.
  3. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders (GPs, NPs, specialists, and others) using an omnichannel approach tailored to their interests and preferences.
  4. Map stakeholders within communities to identify decision-makers and influencers.
  5. Develop strategic account plans for the territory, including investment levels, based on sales trends and stakeholder needs.
  6. Create value with customers by partnering with stakeholders to implement solutions that improve patient outcomes.
  7. Conduct educational events for referral audiences to optimize patient care and increase awareness of Bayer’s assets in evolving treatment guidelines.
  8. Collaborate internally within Bayer, providing insights from the field and supporting cross-functional initiatives.
  9. Adhere to all regulatory and company policies, including the Code of Conduct as directed by Innovative Medicines Canada and Bayer.
  10. Build trust and foster inclusivity within the team and with stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • University degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years pharmaceutical sales experience
  • Experience in cardiovascular/renal therapeutics is a strong asset
  • Excellent key account management, project management, and critical thinking skills
  • Strong business acumen and market assessment capabilities
  • Deep understanding of local healthcare systems and provincial remuneration models
  • Exceptional relationship-building, networking, problem-solving, and influencing skills
  • Positive attitude, team-oriented, with excellent communication skills and learning agility
  • Ability to set and achieve 90-day and long-term goals, seeking continuous feedback for improvement
  • High integrity and ethical standards
  • Willingness to travel within the territory and adapt to evolving business needs
  • Willing to learn new therapy areas and products as required
  • Valid driver’s license
