Job summary

Job description

Kelowna Christian Center Society (KCCS), established in 1982, has a vision for community and global influence. Its core commitments include supporting the church, schools, community, and mission programs, impacting over 35 nations worldwide.

Our ministries include Heritage Christian Online School (HCOS), Flex Academy, Building Beyond Borders, and Kelowna Christian Center Church. Each aims to raise the next generation of cultural influencers.

We are seeking a term maternity leave position for a KCCS Finance Assistant, onsite, for up to 18 months, working 40 hours per week. The primary role involves assisting the Finance Department with recording and reconciling financial details of the Society.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading offering counts
  • Preparing deposits and processing credit card transactions and bank deposits
  • Inputting contributions and maintaining donor database
  • Processing Accounts Payable and cheque runs
  • Reconciliation of EFT payments and processing of financial transactions
  • Recording utility bills, wire transfers, and merchant fees
  • Organizing and filing financial documentation
  • Assisting with charitable tax receipts and deposit preparations
  • Providing front desk coverage as needed

Qualifications & Skills include:

  • Alignment with KCCS Foundational Beliefs
  • 2-3 years of practical accounting and office experience (asset)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, maintain confidentiality, and work independently or in a team
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new software
