Job summary

Pembina Hills School Division invites applications for a Full Time Educational Assistant at École Barrhead Elementary School. The successful candidate will support students with diverse learning needs, collaborate with teachers and specialists, and follow the school calendar.

Hours are Monday to Friday, 6.25 hours per day, 31.25 hours weekly. Located in Barrhead, BES serves about 640 students in K-6 with English and French Immersion.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students with diverse needs would be an asset.
• Preference will be given to applicants with an understanding of childhood development.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students and adults.
• Must demonstrate ability to work as a member of the school team, taking direction from classroom teacher, special education lead teacher, and consultants.
• Enthusiastic and motivated to help students succeed.
• Ability to work in a flexible learning environment.
• First aid would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and encouragement to students with a diversity of learning needs in the classroom.
• Work Monday–Friday, 6.25 hours per day (31.25 hours/week) following the school calendar.
