Job description

The Guidance Center (TGC) is currently seeking a Juvenile Justice Involved Mental Health Therapist to join our innovative interdisciplinary team. TGC is a Community Mental Health Center serving Leavenworth, Atchison, and Jefferson counties in Kansas. Primary Duties:

  • Coordinate with youth referrals from juvenile court services, judges, and school staff.
  • Provide evidence-based substance abuse and clinical services (individual, family, and group).
  • Report client outcomes and participation records to court entities.
  • Make recommendations and referrals for other behavioral health services within TGC.
  • Meet with juvenile court officers, judges, and school personnel to assess program effectiveness.
  • Provide intake assessments and initial treatment planning for justice-involved youth.
  • Provide psychotherapy (individual, family, and group) and ongoing treatment planning.

Qualifications/Experience:

Education and Licensure:

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, or Professional Counseling.
  • Licensure by the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board as an LMSW, LMLP, LMFT, LPC, LSCSW, LCPC, or LCMFT by the first day of employment.
  • Preferred: LAC, LCAC, or LMAC licensure.

Experience:

  • Required: Two semesters of master-level practicum experience in a clinical setting.
  • Preferred: Post-master's clinical experience and familiarity with Kansas community-based mental health practices.
