Justice & Community Safety and Crisis Response Instruction Opportunity

Discovery Community College has an instructing opportunity available for the right individual to help guide our students through their Justice & Community Safety, and Crisis Response programs.

Our instructors play a vital role in changing lives and positively impacting their communities, leading students through their training towards entering the workforce as fully qualified professionals in the fields of community safety, security, justice, and crisis response.

This position is Part-Time Day - Tuesday to Friday. Wage range for this position: $33 to $38 per hour (depending on experience). You can have it all!

Our instructors have the opportunity to teach intermittently while continuing their work in the industry.

What you have:

  • Passion for making a real difference required!
  • Ability to teach adult learners (mentoring/instructing)
  • Provincial Instructors Diploma and previous experience or aptitude and willingness to learn and obtain an Instructor Diploma (with our help)
  • 2+ years of justice and crisis response related employment
  • Bachelor’s degree in criminology or equivalent combined relevant education and experience
  • Superb communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent analytical and innovative problem-solving skills
  • Experience leading a team or course including coaching and motivating
  • Strong technology skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, etc.)
