Salary: $76,609 - $86,924 per year, 37.5 hours/week
Northern Allowance: $16,008 per year

Position Overview

Reporting to the Manager, Community Wellness Programs, the Junior Wellness Program Officer (JWPO) contributes to the success of community-based health programs and special projects by supporting planning, development, and delivery. The JWPO supports program operations by providing logistical and program support to the Manager and team members.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Complete tasks independently while collaborating with territorial, regional, and community program personnel to ensure consistency and compliance with program applications and reporting requirements.
  2. Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of projects, maintaining security and confidentiality of information.
  3. Maintain financial tracking systems for contribution agreements, funding, and amendments.
  4. Coordinate with regional and community staff, such as Regional Wellness Program Coordinators, to facilitate processes and prepare community budget templates.
Qualifications

Typically requires a recognized High School Diploma and two (2) years of program administrative experience, preferably in an office setting.

Additional Assets
  • Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut, and experience in a northern cross-cultural environment.
  • Fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official languages (Inuktut, English, French) is an asset.
