Job Title: Junior Web Merchandiser, JD Sports

Work Type: Full-time, Permanent

The Role:

JD Sports is looking to welcome a Junior Web Merchandiser to our growing team. This merchandiser is supporting the optimization of the online curation and promotion of merchandise across JD Sports' ecommerce platforms.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for merchandising and placement of products featured on home and landing pages, as well as categorizing products within navigation structure.
  • With the Senior Web Merchandisers, ensure the best product placement and content to increase sales.
  • Ensure customer experience is seamless throughout the funnel by consistently performing a series of checks of product pages, category pages, cross-sells, search keywords, navigational elements, customer feedback, and more.
  • Assists in ensuring overall online product presentation, including photography, copy content and other pertinent information is cohesive with the brands’ overall merchandising strategy.
  • Assists in managing the website content calendar for all product categories, focusing on new launches, inventory availability, and marketing initiatives.
  • Support in execution of curated category landing pages to support editorial features and highlights to reinforce the brand's relevance and point of view.
  • Leverages web analytics to understand performance of and customer interaction with site content, such as categories, featured placements (including promotions/sales) and general online shopping experiences to identify business opportunities and risks.
  • Assesses the competitive landscape by examining merchandising strategies of key competitors and best-in-class online retailers to understand emerging online trends and recommend changes to the online category strategy.
  • Continually seeks to improve the online experience by researching and staying abreast of new and innovative online solutions and capabilities; key competitor actions; industry trends and emerging customer and market needs.
  • Ensure pricing on our brand sites is accurate and promotional pricing is coordinated with internal teams.
  • Leverage all possible cross-selling techniques to increase average order size.

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Prior E-Commerce experience required.
  • E-Commerce platform experience; Shopify preferred.
  • Knowledge of Algolia, Dynamic Yield, or similar merchandising, personalization, and testing platforms.
  • Superior time-management and prioritization skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to follow-up on tasks without reminders.
  • Strong eye for curating product assortments that are visually compelling and on trend.
  • Experienced visual merchandiser with strong background in maximizing conversions and cross-selling, paired with an innate sense of luxury retail.
  • Effective analytical, critical thinking and quantitative problem solving abilities.
  • Excellent proofreading skills and grammar skills. Strong interpersonal, verbal and written skills.
