About The Role

6-12 Month Contract | Hybrid or Remote

Junior UX/UI Designer is responsible for enhancing user experiences by re-skinning and rebranding existing applications, creating design standards and libraries for developers, and participating in the development of new interfaces. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure that design solutions meet both user needs and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Re-skin and rebrand existing applications to improve aesthetics and user experience;
  • Create and maintain design standards and libraries to ensure consistency across all applications;
  • Collaborate with developers during the interface development process to ensure design feasibility and usability;
  • Conduct user research and testing to gather feedback and iterate on design solutions
  • Collaborate with product managers and developers to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction;
  • Oversee the documentation and implementation of design processes, ensuring adherence to agile methodologies;
  • Drive improvements in user experience, incorporating best practices and UX design patterns into workflows;
  • Use correct methods in accordance with the established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality;
  • Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures;
  • Other duties as assigned.

About You

  • In-depth knowledge of UX/UI design principles, patterns, and best practices;
  • Proven experience with design tools such as Sketch, Figma, or Adobe Creative Suite;
  • Strong understanding of responsive design and accessibility standards;
  • Experience in creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups;
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers and product managers;
  • Solid experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a plus;
  • Ability to drive design decision-making and foster a culture of user-centered design within the team.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently working towards or graduated with a Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, or a related field (or possess equivalent experience);
  • 1 to 2 years of industry experience in UX/UI design in a collaborative environment preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Manual dexterity to perform intricate and/or repetitive tasks such as keyboarding.
  • Ability to use and view a computer screen for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Ability to sit at a desk and do general office work, which includes periodic sedentary responsibilities.
