About The Role

The Junior UX/UI Designer will join a Global Design group that contributes to a range of product and strategic initiatives by participating in every aspect of the design process, from discovery and ideation, to prototyping, testing, iterating, and product launch.

The position is based in Toronto and may require some international travel to other CITCO locations. The Junior UX/UI Designer will report to the Design Director and interact with business stakeholders and technical groups.

Responsibilities

  • Delivery of UX/UI activities through prototypes, wireframes, user flows, and high-fidelity designs.
  • Create research-driven, compelling user experiences and bring them to life with engaging visual design.
  • Integrate user feedback and business requirements into ongoing specifications.
  • Be an analytical thinker and creative designer who can grasp user needs and solve problems.
  • Translate business problems and ideas into clear design tasks and communicate these to product/platform owners, engineering, and end-users.
  • Operate in an iterative mode with light documentation when required.

Qualifications

About You:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in HCI, Design, or a similar discipline, or equivalent education and experience.
  • 1+ years of experience with Figma or similar tools such as Sketch.
  • 1+ years designing user experiences and creative work for consumer or enterprise web applications.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment with multiple teams.
  • Experience with mobile and responsive design for enterprise web applications.
  • Experience in the financial services industry is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with a shared UI component library is desirable.
  • Prior relevant experience as a UX Designer or equivalent is required.
  • Results-oriented, forward-thinking, and a strong team player.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage multiple activities in an agile environment.
  • Portfolio of websites demonstrating visual design principles translated into working production systems.
