Position Overview :

Please note : this role is 100% on site at our office in Montreal, QC. Candidates currently located outside the region of Montreal, QC will not be considered. Thank you for understanding.

As a Junior Underwriter, you’ll play a key role in assessing deals and preparing loan offers. You'll collaborate closely with senior underwriters, stakeholders, and clients throughout the loan approval process. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and are looking to advance your career in financial services, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities :

• Initial Deal Assessment

Analyze incoming funding applications and develop preliminary (soft) offers using available data.

• Loan Structuring & Pricing

Price deals in accordance with company credit policies, ensuring adherence to internal risk and compliance standards.

• Merchant Engagement

Serve as a key point of contact for clients, guiding them through the approval process and addressing any queries.

Assist in finalizing loan packages for the credit committee, providing insights and analysis to support decision-making.

Qualifications :

• 2-4 years of experience in underwriting, credit analysis, or a related financial role
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, especially in interpreting financial statements and credit reports
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced setting
