Job Description

Who are we looking for? A junior electrical technologist with experience in electrical components of roadways, bridges, transitways, municipal and / or county arterial roads, side streets, multi-use pathways, and parking facilities.

Working with an energetic team, this role involves :

  • Supporting electrical projects and disciplines in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Performing lighting calculations (Autolux & AGI 32), loading, short circuit, voltage drop, and Arc Flash Analysis.
  • Assisting with traffic signal, lighting, and intelligent transportation system design.
  • Supporting the preparation of contract documents and quantity take-offs.
  • Ensuring timely task delivery and quality checks.
  • Assisting senior staff with technical tasks and office operations.
  • Coordinating with authorities, utility companies, and design teams.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with equipment installation and inspections.
  • Supporting project management activities.
  • Developing personal capabilities through training and education.
  • Participating in product development and data analysis.
  • Maintaining and repairing plant and machinery.
  • Designing work schedules and testing standards under supervision.
  • What you will bring to the team

  • 3-5 years’ experience in highway electrical, lighting, traffic signals, and ITS.
  • College diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office).
  • Experience with municipal and MTO projects is preferred.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards (OPS, OESC, CSA, IES, TAC, OTM).
  • Self-motivated, quick learner, and able to multitask.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • G class driver’s license.
