Job summary

Kleinfelder is seeking a Junior to Intermediate Civil/Structural Designer to deliver technical excellence in civil/structural design, focusing on piping, structural and process equipment with standard practices. You will contribute as part of a cross‑disciplinary team and meet tight deadlines as a key team player.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of 2D/3D design experience using CADWorx, MicroStation, and related tools, plus a relevant drafting diploma.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in 2D design and 3D modeling with CadWorx, MicroStation, ProStructures Navisworks, and AutoPLANT.
• Civil/Structural design experience in the Oil and Gas Industry and EPC experience.
• Experience with concrete and steel structures and multi-discipline project is required.
• Computer knowledge is required including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)
• Technical Diploma in drafting design or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare electronic working plans and technical drawings that are in compliance with project standards and goals.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Perform conceptual layout work, develop design details, perform clash detection of models with other discipline models.
• Knowledge of industry or regulatory standards, regulations and codes pertinent to the design.
• Work closely with engineers and design team members to ensure design documents are completed according to deadlines.
• Provide input into design budget and hour estimates as required to support proposals and cost estimates.

Role Overview

The Junior to Intermediate Civil/Structural Designer is responsible for the technical excellence of civil/structural design activities. The individual will need to provide Junior to intermediate level civil/structural design services with respect to piping, structural and process equipment and other associated facility design utilizing Kleinfelder and/or client design standards. In addition, working as an integral part of the Kleinfelder team, have a positive attitude, be a team player and be able to meet demanding deadlines.

Experience & Academic Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in 2D design and 3D modeling with CadWorx, MicroStation, ProStructures Navisworks, and AutoPLANT, experience with Civil 3D, Plant 3D is an asset.
