We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Junior Technical Sales Specialist to join our dynamic sales team. The ideal candidate will work closely with senior sales specialists, technical experts, and customers to develop a deep understanding of our products, services, and solutions. This position offers a clear path for professional development, with the goal of transitioning into a Senior Outside Technical Sales Specialist role.
As part of the software and controls specialist portfolio, you will be responsible for: Programmable Logix Controllers, Automation Software, Information Software, Process control, and associated complementary product and solution offerings.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Development:
- Build relationships with new and existing customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Identify opportunities to grow sales within assigned territories by prospecting, networking, and following up on leads.
- Assist in preparing and delivering technical presentations to customers, showcasing the value of our products and services.
- Technical Expertise:
- Develop a strong understanding of the company’s product portfolio, including electrical, automation, and energy solutions.
- Collaborate with technical teams to provide accurate and effective solutions to customer challenges.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings.
- Customer Support:
- Serve as a trusted advisor to customers, providing technical guidance and support throughout the sales process.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to ensure satisfaction and long-term relationships.
- Professional Growth:
- Participate in training programs, workshops, and mentorship opportunities to enhance technical knowledge and sales skills.
- Shadow senior sales specialists to learn best practices and gain hands-on experience in complex sales scenarios.
- Set and achieve performance goals aligned with the progression to a senior-level role.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal teams, including engineering, operations, and customer service, to ensure seamless delivery of solutions.
- Provide feedback to product management and marketing teams to improve offerings and address customer needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, or related discipline) or equivalent experience.
- 1-3 years of experience in sales, customer service, or a technical role (internships or co-op experience considered).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with customers.
- Technical aptitude and willingness to learn about complex products and solutions.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and eager to take on challenges.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the assigned territory of Alberta.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the electrical, automation, or energy industries.
