Junior Talent Acquisition Specialist (6 month FTC)

Toronto, Canada

This is a 6-month fixed-term contract initially, with potential for extension.

This role is part of our Personalised Content team. We create emotive yet conversion-focused ideas, products, and campaigns at scale and speed. Our specialty is hyper-personalised digital communications that change perceptions, shape new behaviours, and shift market share for clients including eBay, Uber, Walmart, and more!

Job Purpose

As a Junior Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will help build the future of our agency through effective talent acquisition strategies for our DEPT Studios team. You will be the first point of contact for candidates, representing DEPT's culture, and ensuring a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process. You will partner with hiring teams to understand role requirements, provide regular updates, and share market insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review applications, screen resumes, and assess candidates' qualifications for various roles.
  • Conduct phone screenings to evaluate skills and experience.
  • Guide candidates through the recruitment process, providing updates, feedback, and support.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand needs and align candidate profiles.
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment activities: job postings, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and extending offers.
  • Develop strategies to attract passive candidates and maintain a strong talent pipeline.
  • Maintain accurate candidate records in our applicant tracking system.

What We Are Looking For

  • 1-2 years of experience in recruitment or talent acquisition, preferably in the creative and digital industry.
  • In-house recruitment experience is a plus.
  • Experience conducting thorough phone screenings.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage priorities.
  • Proficiency with applicant tracking systems and recruitment tools.
