Job summary

McNally is seeking an enthusiastic Early Career Surveyor to join the McNally District team in the GTA, Ontario. You will primarily support field operations on transportation and infrastructure projects, learning best practices in construction surveying and gaining hands-on experience with industry-leading technology.

You will work in the field collecting data, maintaining project records, and assisting with layout operations to ensure safety, accuracy, and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Recent graduate or upcoming graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Geomatics Engineering, Surveying, Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• Internship, co‑op, or summer construction experience is considered an asset.
• Understanding of surveying principles, coordinate systems, and construction practices is an asset.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other design and drafting software is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Promote and support Kiewit's safety culture in all aspects of work.
• Assist with the implementation of project survey plans and field activities.
• Support survey layout operations and field measurements.
• Collect, record, and maintain accurate field notes, sketches, and survey documentation.
• Verify survey measurements and assist with data quality checks.
• Assist in establishing and maintaining survey control networks.
• Support the preparation of survey reports, drawings, and project documentation.
• Help maintain and care for survey equipment, ensuring proper calibration and operation.
• Work collaboratively with field engineers, project teams, and construction crews.
• Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to build surveying knowledge and technical skills.
