McElhanney is hiring a Junior Survey Assistant to join our Calgary team. This role offers outdoor, hands-on work with training provided, no surveying experience required.   • Use tools and equipment to place stakes, marks, control points or identify utilities or survey monuments.
  • Set up and operate a range of survey equipment.
  • Follow direction from the Survey Party Chief to support field crews and complete daily tasks.
  • Follow and participate in safety processes and procedures.

McElhanney is hiring a Junior Survey Assistant to join our Calgary team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being outdoors, and enjoys hands-on work. No surveying experience is required – we’ll provide the training and support you need to succeed.

As part of our team, you'll work on exciting projects in Calgary, including municipal infrastructure, construction, and legal surveys. Every day is different, and you'll gain valuable skills while working alongside experienced professionals.

Please note: Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing is required, along with client-specific site access testing. Applicants must hold a valid Class 5 driver's license (or provincial equivalent) and meet our insurer requirements, including a minimum of three years of driving experience. You will also need your own vehicle to get to site or meet up with your co-worker.

  • Ability to perform physically demanding work and lift equipment.

  • Reliability, strong work ethic, and able to work well as part of a team.
What Can We Offer You?

The wage range for this position is $19 - $22 per hour. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary/wage range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting. The salary/wage offered will be based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.
