Job description

UL Solutions is seeking a Junior Engineer to join the Solar Energy Advisory Team.

The role involves managing the execution and timely completion of solar energy projects by analyzing project scope, determining project specifications, applying details to solar resource and solar energy models, analyzing results for adequacy, and preparing reports for clients. This position reports to the Solar Energy Team Leader.

  • Complete high-quality solar energy analysis work efficiently and on time.

  • Conduct pre-construction energy analyses, including:

  • Compilation, validation, and analysis of meteorological data for solar resource assessments.

  • Evaluation of project constraints and risks.

  • Estimation of plant losses and calculation of assessment uncertainties.

  • Generation of energy production estimates.

  • Create energy production reports for clients.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure timely delivery of quality products and work effectively with other teams and business units when needed.

  • Work with Energy Team and Project Managers to address client questions post-project completion.

  • Ensure compliance with company quality control standards.

  • Participate in meetings with customers and present at conferences as needed.

Qualifications include a university degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or Physics from an accredited program, and at least 1 year of relevant experience is valued.

Salary range is estimated between $65,000 and $85,000, based on experience and location, with eligibility for an annual bonus of 5% of the base salary.
