Position Summary

Trulioo is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join our high-growth Document Verification engineering team. Document Verification is one of the most exciting and rapidly growing areas within Trulioo, playing a critical role in our mission to build trusted identities globally. At Trulioo, we leverage the best available tools, technologies, and practices to deliver a world-class platform — and we’re looking for passionate individuals who are eager to learn and innovate.

This is a full-time position working on a hybrid work model out of our Mount Pleasant office in Vancouver, Canada.

What you will be doing:

• Applying cutting-edge technologies to help create the next generation of Document Verification solutions
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design customer-focused features and contribute to a forward-looking product strategy
• Working alongside a high-performing team of software engineers to deliver scalable and robust backend services
• Taking initiative to own solutions end-to-end — from planning and design through development, deployment, and maintenance
  
  

You have:

• 1–2 years of professional software development experience (co-op, internship, or equivalent experience also welcome)
• Proficiency in Kotlin or Java
• A strong ability and eagerness to quickly learn new technologies and apply research effectively
• Exposure to frameworks and principles for building microservices architectures
• Familiarity with event-driven architecture and Pub/Sub technologies
• Some experience or coursework in cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a collaborative working style
  
  

It’s a bonus if you have:

• Hands-on experience with distributed systems.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or serverless architectures.
• Familiarity with security best practices in backend development.

We take a market-based and data-driven approach to compensation. We leverage data from trusted third-party compensation sources to help us understand the market value of a role based on function, level, location, and scope.

Please view the base salary range for this role below. The range listed is our expected compensation for the role. However, the pay offered may vary depending on a variety of factors including qualifications, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

Annual Salary

$80,000—$90,000 CAD
