We are looking for Junior iOS Developerto join one of our squads in our Montreal office where you will be supporting Lightspeed’s Retail product group on the mission to expand our reach into new markets and countries while enhancing our advanced Retail commerce platform.

For this role specifically, you'll be joining the team focused on building robust point-of-sale features for our retail merchants. Our mission is to make transacting with Lightspeed as easy and streamlined as possible, helping merchants effortlessly manage sales, inventory, customers, staff, and connected hardware.

You'll join a healthy and collaborative team that's always improving our engineering practices and delivering state-of-the-art technology, all while keeping things fun. Above all, your work will change the way the world experiences retail.

This is a hybrid role based in Montreal, QC.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Collaborate with some of the industry's top talents to enhance our iOS app by developing innovative features and user-centric workflows.
  • Implement aesthetically pleasing, efficient, and functional mobile applications tailored for iOS devices using Swift and migrating Objective-C code to modern standards
  • Prioritize daily activities between the development of new features and the maintenance of existing integrations, with a strong focus on expanding our presence in new markets through novel iOS capabilities.
  • Report to the Team Lead and maintain active engagement with Product Managers, UI/UX Designers, and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and performance within our POS.
  • Participate in daily Agile ceremonies, engage in creative brainstorming sessions to challenge the conventional approaches, and execute cutting-edge solutions that enhance user engagement.
  • Champion high standards in code quality and system reliability, take ownership of the codebase, and contribute to the robustness of our infrastructure.

What you need to bring:

  • Proficient in Swift or Objective-C
  • Experience in writing automated unit and functional tests
  • Good conceptual understanding of software design and code beauty
  • As a global company with employees and clients outside of Quebec, fluency in English as a working language is required for this position.

Nice to haves:

  • Good knowledge of Structured Concurrency, UIKit, SwiftUI, Core Data, REST APIs
  • Experience with local network communication, external accessories (eg. payment terminals, printers)
