Urbantech Consulting, a division of Leighton-Zec Ltd., is seeking a recent graduate or early-career civil professional for a Site Inspector role in Markham or Oakville. The hybrid, full-time position offers exposure to earthworks, road construction, and municipal infrastructure while learning from experienced project teams.

You will prepare inspection reports, review drawings, and assist with contract administration and project documentation on active construction sites.

Competenze

• Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering Technology, Construction Management or related discipline.
• 0-2 years of relevant civil construction experience, municipal infrastructure, land development, or related field.
• Co-op, internship, summer, or prior construction experience is an asset but not required.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings is an asset.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Comfortable working outdoors on active construction sites.
• Valid G driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle is a must have.

Markham or Oakville | Hybrid | Full-Time | Permanent | Salary: $60,000 - $70,000
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to build a career in construction inspection. You will gain hands-on experience working on active construction sites while learning from experienced Site Inspectors, Contract Administrators, and Project Managers. The role will provide exposure to a variety of civil construction activities, including earthworks, grading, underground servicing, road construction, storm, sanitary, and watermain installations.

What You'll Do

• Monitor and document construction activities, including earthworks, grading, underground servicing, road construction, and municipal infrastructure.
• Assist with inspections of storm, sanitary, and watermain installations.
• Review construction activities against approved drawings, specifications, and applicable municipal standards with guidance from senior staff.
• Prepare daily inspection reports, field notes, and site photographs.
• Document construction progress, deficiencies, and corrective actions.
• Assist with as-constructed inspections and documentation.
• Attend site meetings and assist with meeting minutes, action items, and follow-up.
• Communicate professionally with contractors, municipal representatives, and internal project teams.
• Assist Contract Administrators and Project Managers with contract administration and project documentation.
• Bring construction concerns or potential issues to the attention of senior team members.
• Follow project-specific Health & Safety requirements and support safe construction practices on site.
• Develop practical knowledge of municipal standards, construction specifications, drawings, and inspection procedures.
