Job description

Our client is a leading supplier of high-quality seafood, with over 50 years of experience in the industry. They are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Sales Representative to join their team.

This position will require working on site from the facility on Quadra Island, however once on-boarding and training is complete, part-time remote work may be available.

This role offers a competitive base salary (48,000 to 60,000 range based on skills and experience), bonus program, company paid benefits, vacation allowance, relocation allowance (if required), tuition reimbursement.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and negotiation skills, along with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. As a Junior Representative, you will be responsible for identifying customer needs, building, and maintaining sales leads and achieving monthly sales goals through outbound sales efforts.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Communicate with customers to identify and understand their product or service needs; identify and suggest products to meet those needs
  • Build and maintain a network of sources from which to identify new sales leads
  • Demonstrate the function and utility of products to customers based on their need
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management; resolve any issues that may arise post-sale
  • Maintain detailed reports of sales activities including calls, orders, sales, lost business, and any arising issues with customer or vendor relationship
  • Provide periodic territory sales forecasts
  • Achieve and exceed monthly sales goals through outbound sales efforts
  • Provide support for social media sales sites and services
  • Build and maintain positive collaborative relationships with other departments such as production, logistics, and accounting.
  • Provide support to the Sales Director.

Key Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales, Business, or related field preferred
  • 1-2 years experience in sales in the food and beverage, natural resource, or packaging industry
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a high-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, including an intermediate level of skill utilizing Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to take direction, as well as to effectively work independently
  • Ensure a high quality of work and produce work in a timely manner
  • Available to work occasional overtime when necessary
