Our client is a well-established leader in the Lumber and Building Materials (LBM) industry, providing high-quality products and exceptional service to residential, commercial, and industrial construction projects across Victoria, BC.

With a strong commitment to people and performance, they are focused on continued growth and are currently seeking a Junior Recruiter to join their team and help attract top talent.

Position Summary:

Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Recruiter to support their talent acquisition efforts across a variety of departments, including sales, operations, warehouse, and yard. The ideal candidate will assist in managing job postings, sourcing candidates, scheduling interviews, and helping ensure a smooth and positive recruitment process from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support full-cycle recruitment for entry- and mid-level roles in sales, yard, and administrative teams
  2. Create and post job descriptions on various platforms and company channels
  3. Proactively source and engage candidates through job boards, social media, and direct outreach
  4. Screen resumes and conduct initial phone interviews to assess candidate fit
  5. Coordinate interview scheduling with hiring managers
  6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate information in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
  7. Represent the company brand professionally at job fairs and recruitment events
  8. Assist with onboarding and orientation support for new hires

Qualifications:

  1. Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, or related field
  2. 1–2 years of experience in recruitment or HR support (internships or co-op placements considered)
  3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  4. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  5. Experience using ATS platforms and sourcing tools is an asset
  6. Interest in or knowledge of the building materials or construction industry is a plus
