Job summary

CAE is seeking a Software Developer to build real-time simulation software used in military aircraft system integration laboratories. You will develop C++ components reproducing aircraft behavior in real time and simulate avionics signals to validate software before installation on an aircraft.

The role involves collaboration across functions within a multidisciplinary team, hybrid work with two–three days on-site in Mirabel, and core hours 9:30AM–3:30PM.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science.
• Up to three years of software development experience.
• Knowledge of C++ and C#.
• Ability to learn aircraft systems, simulation models, and new technical concepts quickly.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage changing technical requirements, and demonstrate flexibility across multiple simulation models.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing about technical subjects in English or French.
• Ability to meet the requirements of Canada's Controlled Goods Program and, in certain cases, ITAR requirements.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain Government of Canada Reliability Status and a Level II Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop object-oriented software components, primarily in C++, to reproduce aircraft behaviour in real time.
• Simulate the digital and analog signals associated with the aircraft’s avionics systems.
• Participate in all phases of software development, including problem analysis, requirements definition, design, implementation, informal testing, troubleshooting, and integration.
• Support the software’s user community.
• Work with several simulation models used for a single aircraft and adapt your approach to different systems and technical requirements.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team of approximately 10 employees, including a subgroup of approximately four employees that works closely with other subgroups.
• Work autonomously while collaborating regularly with software, systems, avionics, and other engineering groups.
• Valid driver’s license, or ability to commute to the Mirabel offices.
