Job description

Our client, a reputable civil contractor based in Burnaby, BC, is seeking a Junior Project Manager to support the successful planning and delivery of infrastructure projects across the Lower Mainland. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with experience in pre-construction, estimating, or project coordination who is looking to grow into a leadership role in civil construction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Project Managers and Estimators in the planning and execution of civil construction projects
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, cost estimates, contracts, and project documentation
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and consultants to ensure smooth communication and alignment on project goals
  • Prepare and process RFIs, change orders, and purchase orders
  • Help monitor schedules, track progress, and address issues as they arise to keep projects on track
  • Participate in project meetings, track action items, and support project reporting
  • Contribute to safety, quality, and compliance efforts across all project phases
  • Support procurement activities, including supplier selection and materials coordination
  • Assist with closeout processes, including as-built documentation and deficiency tracking

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

  • Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in estimating or project coordination within civil construction
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Familiarity with project management and estimating software
  • Strong understanding of civil construction methods, materials, and site operations
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities and a team-first attitude
  • Ability to commute reliably to Burnaby, BC
