Job description

This position reports directly to VP, Operations / Operations Manager or General Manager on supporting and growing the business by providing job project management and support for multiple service offerings and / or projects. Regional resource and leader providing management and oversight for defined, larger, complex projects anywhere in the Region – or outside the region if business needs dictate. Ensures all assigned projects are delivered safely, consistently and effectively and are profitably managed and compliant. Supports building the Brock brand by providing world class service quality to all stakeholders.

Essential Functions

  • Promote, demonstrate and instill Brock’s B safe and Bbest culture in all aspects of the business.
  • Responsible for project safety, quality, cost and schedule.
  • Ensure proper planning and scheduling of resources, monitoring, and taking corrective actions.
  • Is a champion for safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Build strong cross-functional operating partnerships across the organization.
  • Ability to understand and interpret contracts and successfully execute change orders.
  • Assist in quoting and performing preliminary job walks for defined projects.
  • Responsible for the collection and ownership of complete project and site data.
  • Develop and build sales relationships within both Brock and the customer’s organization.
  • Responsible for leveraging opportunities to cross sell Brock’s product and service offerings.
  • Maintain communication with regional leadership and Business Development to ensure customers’ needs are met.
  • Manage changes to project scope through a defined change management process.
  • Assist in resolving customer issues / discrepancies.
  • Identifies all operations aspects of the job including labour, equipment, consumables and materials along with any sub-contract requirements.
  • Coordinate with Asset Management and Regional Operations on planning / scheduling, and determining materials & manpower demands for defined projects.
  • Work with Business Development and Estimating to transition the job from sales to operations utilizing the Healthy Start process.
  • Develop and implement project construction execution plan.
  • Accountable for completion of assigned jobs to the region and customer satisfaction.
  • Responsible for job cost management and profitability for assigned projects, including daily tracking and reporting for billable and non-billable activities. Monitors KPIs, as defined.
  • Audit ongoing operations and identify opportunities for field efficiencies and standardization of methods to improve margins.
  • Support the development and implementation of a project Quality Control plan.
  • Manage outsourced services within project constraints, including management of re-rental equipment.
  • Collaborate with site supervision while managing multiple projects and ensuring scope, job efficiency and productivity.
  • Ensure work processes and procedures are consistently applied to the project.
  • Follow Brock’s procurement process in support of vendor evaluations.
  • Deliver project within defined profitability metrics.
  • Collaborate with Regional Management and Project Controls to perform job tracking post mortem and lessons learned for continuous improvement.
  • Own the planning and implementation of a program / project by executing detailed project plans which include timelines, scheduling, logistics, purchasing and training plans.
  • Conduct effective performance evaluations and mentor those with less experience.
  • Challenge others to develop as leaders while serving as a role model and mentor.

Working Conditions

  • Working conditions include outdoor and indoor field, yard and shop locations.
  • Working indoors in an office environment.
  • Utilization of Personal Protective Equipment is necessary.
  • Frequent travel as required.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus 3 years of project management experience or 2-3 years of project management experience.
  • PMP and PMI certification, or equivalent, desirable.
  • Supervisory experience with knowledge of employment practices (hiring and termination; discipline, attendance, employment regulations, pay practices, etc.).
