Job summary

BBA Consultants is seeking a Junior Process Engineer Metallurgy for Rouyn-Noranda and Val-d’Or, QC, Canada. The role focuses on mineral processing and extractive metallurgy consulting, with opportunities to work on PFDs, P&IDs, and process simulations under senior supervision.

Ideal candidates have 0–5 years of relevant experience, an engineering degree, and eligibility to register as a professional engineer in Canada.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in mineral processing or metallurgy, or chemical engineering with relevant coursework.
• 0 to 5 years of relevant experience in mining or consulting.
• Eligibility to apply for registration as a professional engineer in Canada.
• Occasional travel up to 30% of the time.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Advanced English and French skills for collaboration with offices and clients.

Responsibilities

• Review process flow diagrams and PFDs/P&IDs, and help design/process parameter configuration.
• Develop heat and material balances using simulation software.
• Assist in sizing and costing of process equipment for new technologies.
• Support proposals, studies and technical evaluation reports.

We are currently seeking junior processengineers to join our team and provide high‑quality consulting services to ourclients in the mineral processing and extractive metallurgy industries.

The positions are open primarily to candidates with twoto fiveyearsof experience working for a mining company or a consulting firm. Recentuniversity graduates from co-op programs are also encouraged to apply. Idealcandidates will have excellent communication, analytical and organizationalskills, a keen sense of initiative and team spirit.

• Work with a team of skilled engineers, designers and projectsupport staff under the supervision of a senior engineer
• Review or analyze PFDs, P&IDs, technical specifications andevaluations; designing and configuring process parameters
• Developing process heat and material balances using simulationsoftware such as Bilmat, METSIM or HSC Chemistry, or size comminutionequipment with software such as Bruno and JKSimMet
• Participate in the selection, sizing and costing of processequipment for new technology implementation

• Undergraduate degree in mineral processing or metallurgy, or inchemical engineering (with courses taken or projects done in mineralprocessing or extractive metallurgy)
• 0 to 5 years of relevant experience
• Eligibility to apply for registration as a professionalengineer in Canada
• Occasional international and domestic travel (at least 30% ofthe time)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and solidpresentation skills
• Advanced English skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in English-speaking Canadian provinces and internationally; you may need to use English occasionally or daily, depending on current projects
• Advanced French skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in Québec
• Asset: Familiarity or experience with METSIM
• Asset:Process simulation and/or design experience
