Infracon Group of Companies in Prince Rupert, BC is seeking Municipal Pipe Layer Helpers for a municipal sewer and water infrastructure project. You will support experienced Pipe Layers, perform trench work, material handling, and assist with manholes and hydrants on site.

This entry-level to intermediate role emphasizes safety, reliability, and the ability to learn the pipe laying trade through hands-on practice in outdoor conditions across Western Canada.

Qualifications

• Must have prior experience in civil construction or ground crew roles.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and work outdoors in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation of sanitary sewer, storm sewer, watermain, and drainage systems.
• Stage and hand pipe sections, fittings, and manhole components to the crew in the trench.
• Prepare pipe joints by cleaning, beveling, and applying lubricants or glue as directed.
• Safely operate hand tools and power tools and assist with equipment setup.
• Assist with assembly and placement of manholes, catch basins, and hydrants.
• Work around trench boxes, shoring systems, and active roadwork environments.
• Hand-dig and shovel around live utilities where heavy machinery cannot operate.
• Shovel and place pipe bedding and backfill materials.
• Monitor trench walls and water levels for safety.
