MDR Strategy Group is a small and growing company of highly energetic and hardworking professionals that help non-profits and public sector organizations—like charities and governments—communicate clearly, listen to the public, and get organized so they can do their work better.

THE ROLE

This full-time summer job (July 3 – August 31) has been created for a high school graduate entering university or college in the fall of 2025. You’ll gain hands-on experience in a professional office environment and build skills in organization, digital file management, and basic administrative support.

TERM

This is a full-time contract position (9AM – 5PM, Monday to Friday) starting on July 3 and ending on August 31, 2025.

LOCATION

This is an on-site role in our office in Bedford, NS. Candidates must be residents of the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) or live in close proximity to HRM with access to reliable transportation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Manager, Administration & Operations, your role will be to:

  • Help manage contact lists, databases, and mailing lists
  • Create, organize, and update digital files and folders
  • Assist with general office organization and tidying tasks
  • Support basic research or data entry projects
  • Help prepare materials for meetings, events, or mailings
  • Provide occasional support with errands or office supply runs
  • Other administrative support tasks as needed

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

No prior office experience required—just a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and high attention to detail, with the following attributes:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Comfort using Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive) or a willingness to learn
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with guidance
  • A respectful and professional approach to working with a team
  • Interest in business, communications, political science, sociology or a similar field is a plus!

COMPENSATION

  • $15.70 per hour.
  • A $1,000.00 bonus will be donated towards your postsecondary tuition in September 2025 following your successful completion of the work term.
