Job summary

Kids for the Future in Markham, Ontario, is seeking a Millwright/Handy Worker to support plant manufacturing and maintenance efforts. You will assist with installation, alignment, and routine servicing of machinery to help achieve facility goals.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, minor repairs, equipment disassembly/reassembly, and upholding safety and documentation standards while collaborating with the production team. Some lifting and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Maintenance experience and problem solving skills.
• Millwright knowledge preferred.
• Basic understanding of mechanical systems and schematics.
• Strong reading, writing and computer literacy.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Clean, lubricate, and inspect mechanical equipment and conveyors.
• Disassemble, overhaul, and reassemble machinery components.
• Prepare work areas, set up rigging and hoisting devices.
• Position, level, and bolt new industrial machinery.
• Perform cutting, grinding, and tack-welding tasks under supervision.
• Follow maintenance and documentation instructions.
• Adhere to safety rules and housekeeping standards.
• Inform Production Manager of production/quality issues.
• Stay current with PCB fabrication technology and manufacturing theory.
• Advise management on installation-related legal issues.
