Job description

Junior Mechanical Engineer - Relocation to Labrador City

Join BBA Consultants as a Junior Mechanical Engineer supporting project and client development in the Labrador region. This role involves working closely with our multidisciplinary teams across offices in Sept-Îles, Montréal, and Mont-Saint-Hilaire, contributing to regional projects in mining, metals, and energy sectors. You will benefit from BBA's network of experts, with opportunities for professional growth and active involvement on project sites.

Position type: Regular, with a structured relocation plan: initial three months at a major center (e.g., Montréal, Mont-Saint-Hilaire), followed by a two to three-year assignment in Labrador City, then potential return or continued work in Labrador City.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing technical documents for heavy mechanics, conveyors, pumps, grinding mills, and metallurgical processes.
  • Performing detailed calculations and onsite technical surveys.
  • Assisting with technical reports, audits, and supervision of systems.
  • Contributing to proposals and participating in project phases from engineering to commissioning.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in mechanical engineering, member of a Canadian engineering association.
  • Up to three years of experience.
  • Willingness for short-term assignments between Labrador City and other offices.
  • Knowledge of MS Office, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Navisworks; assets include experience in heavy industry, SmartPlant 3D, CADWorx, ANSYS, Fathom, and bilingualism.
