Junior Mechanical Designer/Technician - Mining and Metals

Your role as an Industrial Mechanics designer in our Mechanical team will be to model and design industrial equipment and their layout to prepare drawings, specifications, and other technical documents. Additionally, you must ensure quality service and maintain strong internal client relationships by contributing to projects for mining and metallurgical processes, heavy industry, and petrochemicals.

  • Prepare drawings and specifications from guidelines for industrial mechanics mandates, mainly in mining and heavy industrial.
  • Under the supervision of senior staff, carry out the 3D design of equipment and mechanical layouts for all components.
  • Coordinate equipment layout with other disciplines, such as Structural Engineering and Piping groups.
  • Produce 2D drawings of equipment developed in design and general layouts.
  • Prepare 2D drawings (dimensioning, marking, texts, and notes).
  • Perform engineering deliverables under the supervision of a senior engineer, where necessary.
  • Participate in onsite technical audits.

Overview of certifications and job requirements

  • College diploma in Mechanical Engineering
  • Three years of experience or less
  • Available for short- and long-term (asset) work assignments at client sites in Québec and across Canada
  • Excellent knowledge of the MS Office Suite, like Excel, as well as databases and interfaces
  • Asset: Experience in the heavy industry sector (mining, petrochemicals, energy, etc.)
  • Asset: knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, SmartPlant 3D, and Inventor applications
  • Asset: bilingual (English and French)
