Job summary

Required: college diploma or university degree in mechanical engineering and 1–2 years in the automotive field, plus CAD, GD&T, CNC, and aluminum processing

Qualifications

• College diploma or university degree in the mechanical engineering field.
• 1–2 years related automotive experience.
• Knowledge of CAD software modules: design and layout.
• Knowledge of process improvement tools, GD&T, and design for manufacturability.

Responsibilities

• Designing new packaging requirements based on customer functional, appearance, strength, reliability, and durability requirements.
• Modifying plant layout design based on internal/external customer requirements.
• Using Cycle Time Charting, FMEA, and DOE in design and process improvements.
• Providing prompt customer service regarding product design for manufacturability.
• Maintaining knowledge of CAD systems and exchanging data with customers and suppliers.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the engineering function.
