Job summary

Morson Edge (Canada) is seeking a Junior ITV Specialist to support test plans, procedures and reports for validating requirements. You will perform tests in-plant and at project sites per ITV plans.

Required background includes a B.A.Sc in Electrical/Computer/Systems Engineering or equivalent and 1-2 years of embedded real-time testing; knowledge of railway signaling and strong technical writing are essential. Contract: 12 months with extension, potential conversion to permanent.

Responsibilities

• Performs analysis of system, subsystem and software requirements to define validation methods and test cases.
• Performs integration and test activities in-house and at project sites to mitigate project commissioning risks.
• Prepares Test Procedures in accordance with ITV test plans.
• Performs commissioning tests in plant and at project sites.
• Prepares test reports recording pass/fail status and identifies defects.
• Investigates test anomalies through data analysis and collaboration with development teams.
• Prepares problem reports in the defect tracking system.
• Perform traceability analysis.
• Resolve integration issues and rectify anomalies.

Job Title: Junior ITV Specialist

Position Summary

Supports preparation of test plans, procedures and reports to validate specified requirements. Performs tests in-plant and at project sites in accordance with these test plans and procedures. Supports project ITV work.

Key Accountabilities / Key Areas of Responsibility

• Performs analysis of system, subsystem and software requirements to define validation methods, and test cases
• Performs integration and test activities in-house and at project sites to mitigate the key project commissioning risks
• Prepares Test Procedures in accordance with ITV test plans
• Performs commissioning tests in plant and at project sites
• Prepares test reports which record the pass, fail status of planned tests and identify problems detected during the tests
• Develops product knowledge through formal and informal training, OJT, and self-study
• Investigates test anomalies through analysis of data files, design documentation and interaction with development departments
• Prepares problem reports in the defect tracking system describing test failures and defects
• Identify test objectives and test cases
• Keep current with company test processes and methods
• Perform traceability analysis
• Participate in resolving integration issue, problem identification, analysis and rectification of anomalies
• Perform the independent review of test results

Key Requirements:

• B.A.Sc Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering or equivalent
• 1-2 years’ experience in testing of embedded real time systems or equivalent software or hardware test experience
• Real/time embedded mission critical system test experience
• Knowledge of railway signaling techniques
• Knowledge of test methods and procedures
• Competence in technical writing

Preferred Qualifications
