Junior IT Specialist

Overview and Purpose

To administer and provide support for cloud-based enterprise IT solutions, office telecommunications services, and staff computing devices in accordance with industry accepted best practice, as well as provide assistance to the enterprise to ensure business continuity.

Key Responsibilities

• Under guidance of the Senior IT Specialist, acts as the CMRAO network administrator ensuring a holistic and integrated view of IT infrastructure, architecture and business solutions.
• Responds to day-to-day operational issues, requests and project tasks involving various Azure cloud services, as required by the Senior IT Specialist.
• Supports Senior IT Specialist with the development, implementation and maintenance of IT/IM policies, processes and standards including data/information sharing, privacy and security agreements to allow the exchange of information between the CMRAO and the Condominium Authority of Ontario (CAO) and other specified third parties to promote regulatory efficiency and support efficient service delivery.
• Assists the Senior IT Specialist in managing access to data, systems security and access; collects network performance data, monitors network security, troubleshoots issues, anticipates problems and performs routine maintenance.
• Conducts security risk and vulnerability assessments for networks and related infrastructure and develops and applies appropriate security controls.
• Provides general IT support and technical advice and assistance to onsite and remote staff.
• Assists with onboarding of new staff including administering usernames, passwords, and security credentials, and assists with offboarding of staff including removal of system access and collection of assets.
• Assists Senior IT Specialist in administering onsite telecommunication services, including routers, managed firewall, Wi-Fi and local networks, and escalates and tracks issues with service provider as well as virtual office telecom.
• Under guidance of the Senior IT Specialist administers cloud-based enterprise IT solution, including Azure Active Directory / B2C single-sign-on, MS Office 365, MS Dynamics CRM 365 and CRM Portal, SharePoint, security and compliance management.
• Develops and maintains required technical documentation.
• Works alongside IT vendor, and internal stakeholders to ensure CRM enhancements and configuration supports the business requirements.
• Provides after hours remote and/or on-site support for maintenance and in an emergency.

Education, Skills, and Experience

• Completion of a post-secondary degree in computer science, information technology or related field – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
• Minimum of two (2) years of on-the-job progressive experience performing similar functions, preferably in an ISP/Managed Services/IT Services environment; experience supporting remote teams is an asset.
• Microsoft Azure certification required (any of: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals; Microsoft Azure Administrator; Developing solutions for Microsoft Azure; Microsoft Azure Security Technologies; Microsoft Azure DevOps Solutions; Microsoft Azure Architect Technologies).
• Demonstrated experience and solid understanding of administration of MS Dynamics 365, SharePoint and Office 365.
• Experience with Azure Active Directory and B2C single-sign-on security administration.
• Extensive experience in working with VoIP phone systems including configuration and maintenance.
• Knowledge of project management methodologies, principles, tools and approaches to manage technology projects.
• Ability to think creatively to identify and implement technology solutions.
• Demonstrated self-motivation, initiative and ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
