About the Role:

In the role of iOS Software Engineer, you will be responsible for building new functionality and enhancing existing features of AssistIQ's iOS platform. We’re excited by candidates who enjoy and are capable of working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment. Your ultimate goal is to make it easy for our customers to use our solution.

To be successful, you will have to juggle responsibilities in parallel, prioritise competing deliverables efficiently, communicate effectively across the organisation, and be driven by continuous incremental improvement. We expect you to be knowledgeable, articulate, sensible, able to coordinate with other peers and senior executives, and collaborate to deliver results in a fast-paced environment where teamwork, professionalism, confidentiality, and communication are essential.

What you will do:

  1. Key member of the mobile team (iOS)
  2. Design, develop and enhance new functionality of the AssistIQ mobile apps using both on-device processing and cloud-based service integration
  3. Develop with both native (e.g. Swift/Objective-C) and cross-platform frameworks like React Native
  4. Monitor the mobile platform and investigate issues via tools like Crashlytics, Sentry, or CodePush
  5. Investigate and prototype new technologies for running local computer vision and other machine learning workloads on device
  6. Streamline the deployment process and ensure test automation and continuous integration best practices are followed
  7. Participate in writing and maintaining technical documentation
  8. Participate in planning out product features and development projects

What you bring:

  1. 1+ years experience in software development
  2. 1+ years experience with React or React Native frameworks
  3. 1+ years experience building mobile iOS applications
  4. 1+ years experience monitoring, supporting, and enhancing production applications
  5. Computer Science degree, relevant diploma, or demonstrable work experience
  6. Strong command of the following: Javascript/Typescript and Swift or Objective-C
  7. Understanding of iOS SDK
  8. Understanding of SQL and NoSQL datastores (e.g. SQLite and Firestore)
  9. Understanding of mobile monitoring tools such as Crashlytics or Sentry
  10. Understanding of mobile device management (MDM) platforms is an asset
  11. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  12. French oral and written communication skills are an asset
  13. You are legally entitled to work in Canada
