Owen Bird Law Corporation is a downtown, full-service, mid-sized law firm committed to providing exceptional service and outstanding results for our clients.

We are looking for a full-time junior to intermediate Paralegal with Real Estate experience to join our team. This role is perfect for someone with a foundational understanding of real estate transactions, who is motivated to expand their expertise and skillset to include commercial transactions.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

• General Real Estate Tasks:
  • Handle land title office matters, including filing liens, caveats, title ttransmissions, and general residential conveyances.
  • Assist with post-closing matters (e.g., following up on releases, dealing with holdbacks, reporting)
  • Conduct due diligence and perform title searches.
• Assist senior paralegals with commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, sales, financing, sales of commercial properties (e.g., condominium developments), refinancing transactions, and land development matters.

Here is what you bring to our team:

• A minimum of three years of relevant real estate experience
• Completion of a Paralegal program is an asset
• Proficiency in BC land title registration requirements and search procedures
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Basic document drafting and mathematical skills
• Consistently accurate and reliable in your work
• Solid proficiency in Word and Excel and Adobe software

The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 and is dependent on job-related expertise, skills, and experience. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits, including an RRSP Matching Program.
