The TFMS - Junior Interior Designer is part of a team delivering Space Layout & Interior Design, Functional Space Planning, and Furniture Procurement Support services. This role supports senior team members in data gathering, space planning, design development for complex projects, and working drawings for low-complexity projects.

The Junior Interior Designer collaborates with internal staff, clients, and external consultants to ensure the successful delivery of services and projects.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Service Delivery - Functional Planning Services
    • Assist in information gathering and functional planning activities.
    • Create stacking and blocking plans and detailed space requirement workbooks.
    • Develop room data sheets and support drafting and 3D modeling tasks.
    • Participate in information gathering workshops.
  2. Service Delivery - Space Layout & Interior Design Services
    • Translate functional programs into space layouts using AutoCAD.
    • Support development of interior design concepts, material research, and sample procurement.
    • Create digital presentations and 3D renderings to communicate design ideas.
    • Conduct site measurements and inventory assessments.
    • Deliver space reconfiguration layouts and develop working drawing packages for low-complexity projects.
    • Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and sustainability practices.
  3. Service Delivery - Furniture Procurement Support
    • Develop furniture specifications and documentation.
    • Create workpoint models and assist in tender documentation.
    • Support furniture delivery and installation processes.
  4. Project Management Support
    • Manage time effectively, report delays, and support project reporting.
    • Update project schedules and budgets.
  5. Relationship Management
    • Maintain positive client relations and effective communication with stakeholders.
    • Foster internal collaboration to promote integrated service delivery.
Knowledge & Skills
  • 1-5 years of interior design experience, proficient in design and documentation.
  • Strong AutoCAD skills; experience with 3D modeling and rendering software preferred.
  • Knowledge of building codes, accessibility standards, and sustainability certifications.
  • Creative problem-solving and full project lifecycle experience.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and design software.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Working towards NCIDQ certification.
  • BAID degree from a CIDA-accredited institution or equivalent.

Salary Range: $52,864 - $66,080 per annum, with starting salary based on experience and qualifications.
