Job Overview
To support our global growth, we are expanding our technical ability to serve our customers. This newly created Jr. Integrity Engineering position is part of our dedicated team that is executing Fitness-for-Service (FFS) assessments for customers. This position is in contact with a diverse portfolio of internal and external customers to assist with the preparation and execution of heater & pipeline inspections, maintenance, and monitoring plans.
Preference for physical work location is in either our Calgary, Canada or Houston, Texas Intero locations.
Responsibilities
- Assist integrity engineering team with pipeline and heater integrity assessment studies including corrosion growth and FFS assessment.
- Perform pressure-based integrity assessments related to volumetric anomalies (metal loss), planar anomalies (crack-like anomalies), and geometry anomalies (dents, buckles).
- Review external/internal heater and pipeline inspection data and make appropriate technical recommendations based on the findings.
- Propose solutions for heater and pipeline repairs, corrosion monitoring, leak detection, etc.
- Support corrosion assessment studies.
- Support the commercial team with data for industry and customer presentations, technical articles, and marketing material.
Experience, Qualifications, Behaviors
- Minimum 3 years of experience in applicable structural mechanics or material engineering.

- Sense of urgency and commitment to complete tasks within the appropriate timeframe.
- Strong fundamentals in structural mechanics and materials engineering.
- Programming skills to solve engineering problems, preferably using Python, VBA or Matlab.
- Deep understanding about stress analysis, fitness for service assessments (FFS) and remaining life calculations.
- Ability to travel within the Americas Region as needed.
Considered Assets
- Previous experience with finite element analysis (FEA), preferably using ABAQUS.
- Familiar with dent strain analysis, crack-like-flaw analysis and pipeline bending strain assessments.
- Understanding of corrosion, fatigue, creep and fracture mechanics assessments.
- Working familiar with API-579/ASME FFS-1, API-530, ASME B31G, DNV-RP-F101, API-1183, ASME VIII Div. II, ASME PCC-2.
- Previous experience in pipeline data analysis a plus.
Education / Certifications
- Bachelors in Mechanical, Metallurgical or Materials Engineering
- Masters level degree a plus.
- Previous experience in highly regulated industries
- Structural integrity background of pressurized equipment, preferably pipelines
- Registered or eligible to be registered as Professional Engineer in Canada or USA
