Job summary

St. Albert Public Schools is seeking a Junior High French Immersion Teacher to join Hillgrove School for the 2026-2027 school year.

The role includes Grade 9 French Immersion Homeroom, Grade 8 & 9 French Language Arts, Grade 7 & 8 Late French Immersion Language Arts and French Social Studies, and participation in the Soccer Academy. Ideal candidates hold a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate, are language proficient in French and English, and demonstrate strong communication and classroom

Qualifications

• A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and classroom management skills.
• French Immersion teaching experience preferred.
• Candidate needs to be language proficient in French and English.
• DALF C1 or equivalent preferred.
• Commitment to a positive school culture & building community.

Job description

St. Albert Public Schools is seeking a Junior High French Immersion Teacher to join the team at Hillgrove School for the 2026-2027 school year. More than 9000 students are enrolled in St. Albert Public Schools. From Preschool to Grade 12, our students learn and succeed in programs that are recognized for excellence and their focus on citizenship and sound values.

FTE: 1.0 FTE; Temporary from October 2026 – June 2027

Responsibilities

• Grade 9 French Immersion Homeroom

• Grade 8 & 9 Soccer Academy, working alongside Soccer Academy staff
