Position Summary:

The Junior Graphics & UI Designer collaborates with project teams to develop graphical interface screens for building automation system operator workstations. The role involves understanding and representing various systems such as HVAC, Hydronic, Lighting, Energy, Security/Accessibility, and more. You will work closely with engineering technicians, service technicians, and customers to understand the visual and operational needs of each project, organizing graphics and data in an intuitive manner.

Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, shop drawings, and controller databases to produce Graphical User Interfaces.
  • Create visual graphics to support the sales department when needed.
  • Communicate with customers and service teams to enhance UI usability.
  • Identify inefficiencies in graphics creation and develop solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Work independently or coordinate with team members to complete projects on schedule.
  • Design visual solutions that are cost-efficient.
  • Organize information from multiple sources and communicate with teams or customers for clarity and accuracy.
  • Design new graphical assets to improve information display when necessary.
  • Utilize basic programming logic or scripts to create dynamic data displays and user interactions.
Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of web-based design, layouts, and iconography.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS is a plus.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to quickly visualize and implement design solutions cost-effectively.
  • Experience with 3D modeling/rendering and image editing (Photoshop) is advantageous.
  • Strong visual design sense and understanding of digital design fundamentals.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Excellent time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Good customer relations skills.
  • Own reliable transportation to visit sites.
